Art and Eli children !

October 18, 2012 by Cédric in Uncategorized

This term new kids joined my Art class at Eli Africa. They are totally different from the quieter ones I’ve had before!
The older ones are still quite calm but, I find myself constantly challenged by the younger children. They are always trying to get each others attention through screams, songs or weird noises. The good thing about it ? The lessons are never too quiet or too boring !
The children all have such an abundance of personality and it is always interesting to work with it. After a few lesson with them, I concluded that the best way to canalize their energy was ACTION PAINTING. I am planning on starting with this project next week. I am sure that the kids will love it, as it allows you to freely unleash all our emotions into space. They will have the opportunity to be as expressive as they want, breaking away from most technical barriers of conventional art. They will be able to create an abstract piece of art which will represent themselves, their emotions and their energy. All deep, deep, deep work !
