My name is Jane and I joined ELI Africa on the 17th September as a volunteer. I am currently the ELI Cooperative Soccer Tournament Project Manager and I am also involved in the Curriculum Development and Experiential Learning Programme.
Networking with people, getting to know new people and growing up are what is so unique about being an ELI volunteer. Working with brilliant people like Vedant, Medha and Cedric enables me to learn more about their experience as volunteers.
Being a volunteer at ELI Africa is an amazing experience because I always think about how my actions and efforts will contribute to the welfare of society and by large, to the progress of my country. Being a student in International Relations, I strongly believe in the power of civil society. Grass root movements and NGOs are very powerful drivers of change in society.
My team and I are working very hard to make this year’s ELI Cooperative Soccer Tournament a great success! The ELI Soccer Tournament is a fundraising activity for the educational and environmental projects of ELI Africa Mauritius. The ELI Cup will be held on Saturday 23th November and Sunday 24th November at the Mauritius Football Association, Trianon.
We need volunteers to help us during the Tournament, if you want to lend a hand, just drop me an email at jane.moteea@eli-africa.org
