ELI Africa: 83.3% Pass Rate For CPE Exams 2014

January 21, 2015 by Pravisan in Experiential Learning Initiative

Great news to start the academic year at our ELI education Center! For the  CPE exams 2014, the ELI teaching center found at Roche Bois registered a passing rate of 83.3%, an increase of 10.6% when compared to the center’s passing rate for the year 2013.  Five of the six students from the Roche Bois Center who sat for the exams in October succeeded and are now attending High School. This is indeed wonderful news for the students.

Our CPE program started in October 2012 at Roches Bois center. In the beginning only English classes were held. However, with time, we started teaching other subjects. Though some of our students had learning difficulties our group of dedicated volunteers worked diligently to ensure that the students are successful. Moreover at our education center, students were given individual attention and our volunteers were always ready to attend their queries. Apart from supporting the students academically, we also connect with our students to bolster their confidence in order to encourage them achieve more. Besides, the students had the opportunity to work model examination papers under exams conditions and they were given tips on how to improve their performance.

2014 has indeed been a fruitful academic year for ELI Africa.  In 2015, we will invigorate our teaching programs to increase the passing rate.  Besides, we will, under our ELI Corps Program, implement new lessons which will provide a holistic education to our students.

Once again, congratulations to our ELI students! J
