NGOs rely on money from a variety of sources, including individual donors, corporations, and governments. Often what an NGO can and cannot do is tied to where the money comes from and this dramatically affects the effectiveness and neutrality of NGOs. ELI Africa is no exception! At ELI, we are expressing difficulty in finding sufficient, appropriate and continuous funding for our work. As a result, various ambitious projects tend to stall and sometimes never see the end of the tunnel. These funding issues have become a particularly challenging aspect of the NGO. This is from where spurred the idea of ELI Foundation. Our mission shall be to find the required funds to sustain the various projects of ELI Africa.
ELI Foundation will henceforth act as an umbrella project, responsible for the smooth financial running of ELI Africa’s projects. For this to be possible, a group of young volunteers have put their minds together to come up with some great ideas – a door-to-door sale, a tombola raffle, an ELI day, a street football tournament, and an ELI garden from which you can buy orchids, money trees, lucky bamboos and many more. We believe that with our zeal, determination and hard work, these ideas could turn into fruitful and successful activities which would most definitely help us in our various endeavors.
However, as mentioned above, the determining factor of our success is the support and boost we receive from all of you! Without your help, chances of making a difference in today’s world are minimal! You all count; You can all make a difference by bringing in a small contribution – be it through a donation or the devotion of your time to one of our projects with which you feel most connected with!
