ELI Wooff is 52 adoptions old! And, what a journey it has been! In the following months, our volunteers will visit adopters to celebrate them and their adopted dog! We’ve brought in shivering, sad and hungry pups and dogs to our sanctuary and then seen them grow and become happy, healthy and energetic family members. And now, it’s time for us to discover the next chapter in their lives – post adoption.
Recently, two ELI Wooff volunteers visited Zulu. Zulu, four months old, is the pride of his master Mrs. Daisy Fabien of Beau-Bassin. The two of us had seen Zulu grow but yet, there we were, unable to recognize this dog who had become big, plump and jumping everywhere! It was amazing to see Zulu’s journey from the gutters of Curepipe to the lovely home of Mrs. Fabien!
Even more amazing is the chemistry between Zulu, the other dogs, and wait for it… a monkey! Just seeing Munna, the monkey, hold out his hand to play with Zulu was quite a sight. Having seen Zulu grow, we were bit concerned at first but the adopter, Mrs. Fabien, is a fine woman who knows the value of these beautiful animals and who takes wonderful care of her dogs. And she even sportingly posed with her lovely dog for a photo.
And no, this story is not from a fairytale! This is the story of a very happy master and an even happier dog. And just the first of many!
