It’s been more than three months now that ELI Foundation is a project of ELI Africa. So far, it’s been an arduous journey and yet an enriching one. ELI Foundation is gradually migrating from being a pilot project of ELI Africa to, we hope, becoming a core project of the Organization.
Starting off with myself as the only member, the ELI Foundation Team now comprises of three more dedicated members who gradually understood and felt the potential of the project – Heetisha Inderjeet, Kimtee Ramsagur and Kasheena Rogbeer. The team was built in line with ELI Africa’s President, Vedant Seeam’s preference of quality over quantity—‘The few, the best.’ One of the objectives of ELI Foundation is to raise funds to ensure the smooth running of ELI Africa’s projects. To meet this very objective, ELI Foundation will be soon organizing a tombola raffle.
Work to launch the tombola started by the end of July. Our team would meet regularly to discuss about the different prizes that could be won and to debate over the strategies to adopt to maximize sales. Our efforts were rewarded and, ELI Africa’s first ever tombola will be launched in the coming weeks. Luring and interesting prizes are to be won. We are offering people the opportunity to contribute to good cause, with the chance of winning something big in return!
As I mentioned earlier the journey as project manager of ELI Foundation is an enriching one. Every day spent as a member of the Foundation is equivalent to something new learnt and a new skill acquired. The ELI Foundation Project will hopefully continue be one of the core projects at ELI Africa. It all depends on the dedication and capacities of its members. Soon, more volunteers will be given the opportunity to join our team. Anyone can be a member of the Foundation but it all comes down to that person’s devotion and commitment.
